Its possible that this is bad install, Control Panel items loads just fine
here, so does Photo Gallery. Was this is a clean install or upgrade from a
prior version of Windows? Are there any error messages, are the Control
Panel and Photo Gallery issues the only ones you are experiencing? When you
say "only the edge of the program appears" are you referring to the left
pane? I have noticed a slow load time for control panel items, could you
tell us your system specs?

As for Glass, that depends on if your video card is supported. Could you
tell us the model and brand you are using and vRAM its using? Vista requires
a minimum 64-MBs of vRAM work, 128 MB recommended.

HI, I have A dell XPs M140 with Intel Media Accelerator, [I found out it is
not sufficient for Aero] 2.00 ghz processor. When I say I see just the edges
for Controll Panel I mean the window opens and you can see the border around
it with the minimize exit and enlarge buttons but hte "interior" is just a
mirror image of what is behind it. After that it just closes, There are no
error messges. On Windows photo Gallery when you click it nothing at all
happens, nothing whatsoever. This was not a clean install. I wonder if it is
possible to format the hardrive and then reinstall [worst case scenario] the
os. Thanks for the help on aero but if What I have heard is correct its not
worth the hassle.
Thanks, Ps is there a way to run diagnostics on the operating system to see
what the prblem is.

I seems you are experiencing glitches from the upgrade, I would definitely
recommend a clean install. From the sound of things, Vista was not installed
on a logical partition, I would suggest you back any existing data you have
stored on that computer. The format the partition by booting from your XP
CD.

For diagnostics, you could try running check disk on the drive and running
the memory diagnostics tool located in Control Panel > Administrative Toosl,
since you can't access it from Control Panel, you would have add it to the
Start menu from the Taskbar properties.

Hi,

I have the exact issues as CEJ. I have done a clean install on a Dell XPS
M170 (2,23 Hz centrino, 2 gb ram, 100 GB HD, Nvidia 7800GTX). Any other ideas
what might be causing this?
