Importing Ecel to Access 2003

Help please

I am trying to import a spreadsheet from my PC to my Laptop, I have saved it
on a stick and resaved it on my laptop.

When I try to import I get the message cannot find or string incorrect!!!
It only happens with this spreadsheet, all the others I try work perfectly

Any ideas, I did not set up the original spreadsheet but it does not appear
to have any security restrictions

assuming you can open the excel sheet ok on your laptop - open it and copy
the data cells into a brand new excel sheet on your laptop...give this new
file a new name when you close..

try importing this new file now....

if it is a really big sheet you can experiment by copying just a portion of
it in the first attempt...

if it won't import - re-open that file and eliminate header / trailer
records that might have non-data...such as column names and such...so you
really strip it down to just data....

these are guesses and work arounds - not really explaining why it doesn't
work because I don't know why....all I know is that sometimes for some
reasons an excel does not import - and these are the things I typically do
and generally one way or another it will work....
