Had to reload XP, old data was saved, can I recover my address book and
emails from the saved "Old Data"? How?

You haven't told us anything yet.
We have no idea to what program you are even referring, nor how you backed
up your data.
Do you have any idea how many "XP's" there are?

Russ, I am using XP Home edition, with SP2. I re-installed the operating
system without re-formatting the hard drive. An option in this process
creates a folder which data is saved related to the information contained on
the computer prior to re-installation. The program that I what to recover
information from is MS Outlook (address book /old emails) from the Office
2003 standard edition. Hopefully this additional information will be helpful
in receiving assistance.

Indeed. We could never have guessed all that.
Your question is actually about an operating system procedure, not an
Outlook procedure, and is one I would never use or recommend to anyone, so I
am unfamiliar with where your data has been moved.
As far as Outlook is concerned, as long as your data is still on your hard
drive, you only need find and open the Outlook data file you were using
before. All Outlook data is in one file. The file you need is your Personal
Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are
stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup:

Thanks for link. I was aware that the problem arose out of the operating
system (my problems were self inflected). Although I initially did a
re-install without a hard drive reformat to recover some files, I did in the
end reformat the hard drive for a clean install of XP.
