Import video but no audio

I am using XP home. Movie maker 2.1
I can import my mp2s the video is fine but I don't have any audio.
The storyboard shows that there is audio there.
But there is no sound when viewed in the player or after I've saved it.
I've turned off all of the filters in options, but no help.

Can anybody help?

What device are you importing from and what connection are you using or
where is your source file coming from?

What file format are you importing? If it is MPEG you should convert to AVI
or WMV prior to importing into WMM as WMM doesn't like MPEG. You can find
all the file conversion information on www.papajohn.org website.
