Import Specs btn gone!

Hi there. Using A02 on XP. I import .xls files often and
in one DB, the import file has been revised (fewer
columns) and I wanted to import manually so I could reset
the import specs. BUT, I got an error
message "Method 'Columns' of object 'IImexGrid' failed".
When I click okay, I get the import wizard but no specs
button. Ugh! I've even gone to a few other DB's and tried
to import and I either get the error and then no button or
go right to the wizard with no button. Any ideas what has
happened? How I can fix? I've rebooted, etc. No luck.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

There are no import specs for Excel files.

They only exist for Ascii .txt files.

Joe, Thanks for responding. I mispoke. I have ascii type
files that I import from Excel. I did have to import a
new .csv file to get the Advanced btn to show again and
then I had to recreate new import specs for my old files.

Glad to hear you got it working.
FYI - there is a way to import specs from old files to new ones.

Converting Import/Export Specifications

You can always just import them to the new MDB.
File
Get External Data
Import
(Navigate to old MDB)
Import
Options
(Uncheck Relationships)
(Check Import/Export Specs)
OK
