Import of .pst files from one Outlook to another Outlook

Morten

I'm working in Outlook 2002 and my computer has been
reinstalled (formated etc.).
Now I want to import the old files from Outlook into the
exact same Outlook (just reinstalled on a new partition).
I can't do this.
It's possible to import from Outlook Express and other
programs but not form another Outlook!
I have the files backed up from earlier.
Personal Folders(1).pst
Outlook.pst
extend.dat
archive.pst

I can't believe it's not possible to import these files...

Please help me.

Why are you trying to import a native Outlook file type? (BTW - you can
only use .pst files, not the rest).

Use File->Open to OPEN the .pst file after you have copied it back to the
hard drive and removed the read-only attribute.

Importing is for translating a non-Outlook file to a format that Outlook can
use.

If the original poster follows your directions, he/she will lose:

1. Custom forms (kept when opening a .pst file)
2. Connections between contacts and activities (kept when opening a .pst
file)
3. Received dates on mail (kept when opening a .pst file)
4. Birthdays and anniversaries in calendar (kept when opening a .pst file)
5. Journal connections (kept when opening a .pst file)
6. etc.

Do not advise people to import a native file into Outlook - opening the file
works just fine and avoids the previously listed problems.

..pab and .wab are obsolete with the newer versions of Outlook (2002 and
2003) - just FYI.
