Import of a *.pst file

I will be handling a golf group next year and have been sent the file
golf.pst wich is the email address book for the group. I would like to
import this file into my outlook contacts without interferring with my
existing contact/address book.
Can you provide the step by step procedures?

Save the PST to your hard drive in any folder where you have write
permission Do not overwrite any existing PST. Make sure it's not
read-only, then open it in Outlook with File>Open>Outlook Data File. You
should then have access to its folders and can move things around to suit
yourself. No import needed.

I have done this, and have the emails that were in the file, but can not see
or find the contacts.

If that PST contains no Contacts folder, then none was ever in it or an
export was used and the Contacts folder left out. You don't have to
toriginal PST. That said, however, are you using the Mail view of the
Navigation Pane in Outlook 2003? If sop, you won't see any non-mail
folders. Switch to the Folder List view.
