I'm trying to import messages to windows mail but when I choose Microsoft
Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Exchange I get following error:
Messages from MAPI-client can't be imported.
Please let me know what I can do.
When I export from Outlook Express I can only do it to a pst-file
Hope to hear from somebody very soon - thanks.

If you're really trying to get the messages from OE to WinMail, see:
If you used Outlook Express on the old computer, see

If you want to import a .pst file, you have to have Outlook installed.
Windows Mail uses part of it to be able to understand .pst files.
You can also import from Outlook to Outlook Express on your
old computer, then import from Outlook Express to Windows
Mail.

If you also want to import the contacts, bring along the .wab file.
After you copy the transferred files to a diectory on your new
computer, but before you import them into Windows Mail, make
sure the copies are read-write instead of readonly.

Hi Frank

Thank you for your quick response. I have tryed but there's no bdx files on
my computer?

The problem doesn't appear when I try to select the file.
I can't even get to the point where I have to choose the file because
allready when I choose Import in windows mail and then choose Microsoft
Outlook I get the error. The export from my OE is a pst-file which is Outlook
and that's why I choose Outlook when I import.

Hope you understand what I mean :)

If OE works the you DO have DBX files. Make sure Windows Explorer or Search
is set to show hidden files and folders. Outlook is all OE can export to,
so if you want to go that route follow Robert's advice. The link I gave
tells how to do it without involving Outlook.
