Import export wizard problems

I'm trying to import the contacts folder from my desktop to my laptop. I had no problem exporting from the desktop the contacts .pst file. When I try to import the .pst file to the laptop, the Import/Export wizard stalls when I click the "Import from another program or file". I tried others in the list and "export to a file" does not work, but the rest work, "Import a VCARD file (.vcf), icalender, internet mail settings & addresses". When I say it doesn't work I mean that the next button is NOT greyed out, but clicking it does nothing (it just click's and does not advance to the next screen).
I have Outlook 2002 SP-1 on the desktop, Outlook 2002 SP-2 on the laptop

Thanks for your help

First, I'd run Detect and repair on your laptop to try to repair your Import
Wizard.

Second, Import and Export is a poor choice for transferring Contacts from
one installation of Outlook to another. It adds two unnecessary
opportunities to corrupt your data. Instead, you should copy the Contacts
into a new PST file, which you can then open in the other installation.
