Can't Import Outlook 2007 Contacts to Outlook 2007

I recently re-installed Windows and saved my Outlook 2007 contacts from the
previous installation in a PST file via the export function. I attempted to
import that PST file into my new Outlook 2007 installation by selecting File
-- Import and Export -- Import from another file or program but at that
dialog box, clicking on the next doesn't allow me to advance to the next
screen.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Firstly you should not have used the export function. Why didn't you just
make a copy of the pst file?
Secondly, don't use the import function either - both methods can very
usually result in corrupted data, corrupted mail profiles, etc etc.
In Outlook just do File-Open-Outlook Data File.

For future reference, here are some links on the CORRECT way to do this:

Gordon, thanks for your reply, but it is not the Outlook Data file that I
attempted to backup. I do not know of any other way to backup the contact
list saved in my previous installation of Outlook 2007 than to export the
contacts.

I have successfully imported my contacts into Outlook 2007 before, but for
some reason, it is not allowing me to do so this time. If this persists, I
will uninstall Office and reinstall it.

uninstall/reinstall is generally a waste of time and effort. It wont do
anything that office diagnostics won't do.

In Outlook ALL your data, (email, contacts, calendar, tasks etc) is held in
the one pst file. Thus the correct way to backup, as outlined in the links I
gave you, is to close Outlook and make a copy of the pst file. (Unless you
connect to Exchange Server, which is a different ball game)
I have successfully imported my contacts into Outlook 2007 before,

Then you've been lucky that it didn't cause you any nasty
side-effects........
