How can I import the account settings from an backup

And with what/how did you back them up?

Hi,
I copied the whole outlook folder to a backup disk. Because I have now an
new system I have to restore the outlook settings from this backup. I did
this already with the import function.All the mail folders are fine but the
mail account settings are missing?!

Aloha Armin,

The account settings are part of the Outlook profile. If you only copied
the PST file then you didn't get the profile.

Thats because they are stored in the registry of the old PC, they are not
held in your pst

THanks, can you tell me where in the registry is this hold?

I dont believe the settings are 'readable' when you check the reg keys.
Depending on your version of win there is a save my settings wizard (winxp)
If your old PC is still functioning you can, as a workaround, import your
settings into OE then transfer to new PC OE, prior to importing them into OL
