Immediate Switchboard Help Needed!!!

I'm creating a user database for a school. I've made a copy of my file so I
can "play" and not lose the correct work. I've tried creating a switchboard
and was successful, although, it wont safe anything I've done. I haven't
tried it on the original file because I'm unsure of how to get back in to
continue with the designing and adding tables, forms etc. I don't want to
lose what I've already accomplished and need to have this ready by 7:30
tomorrow morning. I'm hoping someone is browsing the boards and willing and
able to answer my question. How do I get the Switchboard to save on the copy
file? After making the opening page of my database the switchboard, how do I
go back into it in the original format to continue working and creating new
things? If I'm too vague, I apologize, I'm a bit stressed since it's 5:30
p.m. and I can't leave work until this is complete. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thank you for your reply. Sorry I wasn't clear. But I went back into my
back up copy after posting to see if it still did the same thing, and it
didn't. Now I can maneuver in it. Before I was getting an error message
that read that I didn't have exclusive access to save it. I didn't know what
that meant. But I'm not getting that message now. Your post did help me
though. I'm so new to this that any little bit helps. Thanks again.

Okay, I have another question. While I was "playing", I went to Start up to
make the switchboard open when the database is opened and I selected to
disable full menus... How do I reverse that???

Startup is not an option... Tools isn't even available. Good thing it was my
back up copy.

Hold down the Shift key while opening the database (to bypass the startup
code).
