IMAP Deleted Items

Philip Kidby

Hi - I understand about IMAP deleted items etc,

However - where do they go? Supposing I delete a message from the inbox by
mistake- i dont seem to be able to find it anywhere?

Also, they just seem to delete permanately - there is no strikethrough/then
purge option?

Please help!
Thanks

Sounds like you're using the "Hide Messages Marked for Deletion" view instead
of the "IMAP Messages" view.

I am having a similar problem. I have my view set to "IMAP Messages" and as
soon as I click the delete button, a line appears through the message and it
disappears. When I check my account via webmail, the message has been
deleted.

This problem seems to have croped up after I made the switch to Outlook 2007
earlier this year. Outlook 2003 functioned correctly and viewing the account
view webmail would show all the messages marked for deletion but not Purged
yet.

You don't that you have the same problem because you don't know if you are
using the same version of Outlook with the same account type on the same
version of Windows using the same network setup ... and so on.

Start your own new thread to discuss your own problem. Don't hijack someone
else's thread.

Are you switching folders? Outlook 2007 has an added IMAP feature you can
enable that will purge items marked for deletion when you switch folders.
