what it is, on further reseach, is that your computer has
got some spyware on.
the solution is:
1.end sysu.exe from the task manager (crl-alt-del), your
icons should reappear.
2.in my computer find "C:\Programs\ddm"
ddm is dynamic desktop media it's ad-aware.
once deleted your computer should run fine.

Maybe in your case, but not everyone having this problem has spyware. And Ad-aware is a spyware remover, not spyware or ad-ware.
