iexplorer running SLOW

Suddenly whenever I use internet explorer my system slows
down and task manager shows 100% usage. The main problem
seems to be with the process "System" which jumps to over
50%, with iexplorer using most of the rest. If I am
patient, a couple of minutes, it drops back to it's
normal level and the page I was after does appear. I
suspected spyware because msmsg.exe also gets started
while this is happening! I have run Norton anti-Virus,
Sypbot, and Adaware 6, and downloaded new drivers for my
cable modeum. I've also disabled msmsg.exe so it cannot
start. All with no improvement! This slowdown only
happens with ie, many other programs including a heavy
duty video editor run fine. Also it is not the internet
connection as a different machine uses the connection
thru this machine.

More than likely Spyware.
Maybe Virus.
Use Webroots Spyware Remover.
