At different times and under different scenarios, while I am surfing the web, i will get the following error message:

"IExplorer has caused an error in Kernel32.dll"
"Iexplore will now close"

I run WinME, Ver 4.90.3000A and Internet Explorer Ver 6.0.2800.1186,
with 320MB RAM on a Pentium 2 - 450MHZ Dell OptiPlex GX1

The last faultlog text file was this:

module SHDOCVW.DLL at 0187:71701e55.

Does anyone really understand this goobly-gook?

Any help wil be greatly appreciated - Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the link Jan - but, I'm still looking for answers, as I have found no resolution yet.

A couple of the links are for when you close down IExplorer, and you get that particular error message, which has happened to me on a few occassions.

One article on Microsoft site says,
"STATUS"
"Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer" <Duh!>
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q182027

One other problem in regards to that error message, is that often when I get it, even if I try to accept the obvious problem and "Close" the dialog box containing the error message, it WON"T close!!! No matter how many times I click the "Close" button, the
error message dialog box stays on top of any other application open, and will only finally close by rebooting my system.

I would rule out parasites that my be the cause.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

and:

SpyBot-S&D
http://security.kolla.de/

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
