Iexplorer 6 doesn't want to open

A

Alex

Here it is !

Each time I double click on my shortcut or when I try to
open Iexplorer browser, I always get this message :

"Microsoft Iexplorer has encountered errors and needs to
close".

Then a little box is checked if I want to send or not the
report to microsoft. So I hit the button "don't send" and
my browser opens.

How can I resolve the problem ??

Thanks all!!

Alex,
Understanding and Troubleshooting Unrecoverable Errors (Faults) in IE
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=276393

The IE Error Report generates a "appcompat.txt" file.
This can usually be found in:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temp\

Paste the contents (if found) in your next message.

Mike, the problem with this error (which also began on my XP Pro machine on the 25th after 10 pm) is that this is a temp file and as such MS will not all highlight and copy of the file. Even tho it is stored at that location, I was unable to open the file. I had 3 dated versions and couldn't open any of them and they would not send to MS. What the other writeres didn't say was that the "Send Error to MS" also stops responding and has to be forced down
Could this be some sort of virus. It is odd that several instances occurred on or about the same date/time. I went so far as to 1) reinstall IE6.0 and 2) repair XP installation (1.5 hrs) all to no avail. It did not repair IE
I'd appreciate a direct reply to my corrected email address shown below.

Barney,
You should be able to open the file in Notepad.
When you say you can't open it ..... what happens?
Note: a reinstall will NOT help if a Trojan or Parasite exists.
