IE6 wont load java applets

T

tbromund

I recently upgraded my home computer which included a new
bigger hard drive and a switch from Windows ME to XP Pro
and fresh install of all software.

Since the upgrade, IE will not load up java applets on
any web pages. I have gone to Sun's site and downloaded
and installed the latest java software but it doesn't
seem to have helped. I am also running XP Pro and IE6 on
my computer at work and when you go to tools;internet
options and click on the advanced tab, under the listig
of settings, directly under the HTTP 1.1 Settings listing
it shows a listing/check box indicating that it is
running the java software ( Java 2 v 1.3.1_01 for
<applet> ). This doesn't show up on my computer at home.

I have cleared up any firewall issues so there's nothing
htere preventing this from working.

Any ideas what might be wrong and suggestions on how to
fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tim

I am having the same problem... I applied the latest Java
upgrade but the java applets still won't load. Anyone
else have any additional ideas? I don't want to reload
Windows XP.

Thank you.
