IE6 won't let me download McAfee antivirus software

I just upgraded to IE6 SP1 and now I can't access McAfee downloads because of the following error message

"An error has occurred in the script on this page

Line 29
char
Error object required: 'gobjReg
Code
URL: mcp://c:\Windows\temp\mcac2f0.tmp\vsoins.ui::default.ht

Called McAfee and was told to clean up all old McAfee files, etc to try and reload, but get the same IE error message even after following their directions. Any ideas? Help!!!

And thanks in advance for any answers...

Did you flush the browser's temp file cache?

Did you empty the temp directory specified (c:\windows\temp)? Did you empty
your temp directory (%temp%)?

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/scriptdb.htm

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Check the box to Disable script debugging.
Uncheck the box to Display a notification about every script error.

You might want to refresh your scripting engine:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/nhp/default.asp?contentid=28001169
or
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.

Hi Frank

Thanks for the response. Script debugging was already disabled and Display a notification about every script error was already off.

As to refreshing my script engine...I'm not sure what to do. I'm running Win 98 and didn't see one in the library that specifically mentioned that platform. Suggestion

Try this URL.

Microsoft's Scripting download
Get the latest. Two download versions are available for Windows Script 5.6.
The first version requires Windows 2000, XP; the second version requires
Microsoft Windows 98, Millenium Edition (Me), or NT 4.0. Choose the download
appropriate for your operating system.
