IE6 SP1 problems with pdf files since critical updates

Since running the latest SP1 critical updates on IE6 many
users within our company are reporting a problem where
they are unable to open a pdf document from the company
intranet. To work around this, users are using the Save
Target As option and then open it separately. We are
having the same problem with IE5.5 (SP2) users, and again
this is only since updating the latest critical updates.
O/S range from W95 to XP (mainly 95 and 2000) and covers
both Adobe reader 5 and 6. Any ideas?

if you go to OE>tools>options>security tab>and remove the
check mark from the 4th one down it may resolve this problem for you.
You could also take a look at the help>read me file in OE and this will
explain the 'problem', under new features in this release.
You could also bookmark the following link, where you can search the
previously asked questions over many years, a very useful site.

Every attachment is potentially unsafe even if it is from a known and

Uninstall Acrobat Reader and install the latest version from the Web site.
