IE6 running slow

Diane

We have not been able to use our IE6 for quite some time.
We can open the browser, and we can use the browser, BUT it
runs extremely slow.

We have no trouble with Netscape Browser. I prefer using
IE, but the fact that it runs so slow deters me from using
it. We have used it since we have had our system, but for
some reason all of the sudden it just started running slow.

Is there anyone who could possibly give me some insight as
to what the problem may be.

Please help!
Diane :)

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

I went to the Microsoft IE newsgroup...many people had
same problem...supposedly after a Microsoft upgrade. One
person had this fix and it worked great:

I had the exact same problem - here is what I did to fix
it.
In Internet Explorer:
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
Uncheck "Enable Third party browser extensions"
Close Internet Explorer
Then Restart computer.
"No more Problem"
