IE6 Page cannot be displayed

Bill

Hi, I have had a problem for a couple of months with IE6
not being able to access Yahoo Mail and Hotmail. I now
find that I cannot download any updates from Windows
Update and I can't even post here - I get the 'Page cannot
be displayed' message. I don't appear to have any problems
browsing in general. I have tried the suggestions on other
postings eg cleared cookies/history/TIF, ran spyware & ad-
aware, cmd ipconfig/flushdns and renamed HOSTS file and my
virus protection is up to date but still the same. I think
this problem started after I downloaded some previous
Windows updates - could this be the problem? Any ideas
will be appreciated.

You are using the old version of the web interface to newsgroups.
Try using a real NNTP newsreader (e.g. Outlook Express)
or the newer version of the web interface.

Here is the IE portal which gives you links for both options.
