IE6 not working with aol 9.0

Customer has 3 machines. 2 with xp pro, 1 with xp home.
Internet connect is with AOL DSL (home networking) into a
DSL modem into a router and cat5 to each machine. On the
xp home machine, when connected, aol browser works fine
but ie6 will not open any web pages. Prior to installing
9.0 customer had AOL 7.0 and IE6 worked fine. This also
happens with AOL 8.0 too. I installed mozilla just to see
if it worked and it does not but the AOL browser works
fine. Yes I understand the AOL browser is based on IE too
but I cannot get IE to work. Machine has new install of
os and service pack. Any help would be appreciated for I
built all 3 machines and installed the network and this
AOL nonsense is tiring me real fast. Thanx...Rich G

Hi,

The latest versions of the AOL browser are based on Gecko (Netscape).

I never heard of AOL DSL connections, but AOL used to install a different
connection software that had nothing to do with Winsock. In that
configuration, IE was to be told never to dial a connection.

I think the problem is in the way IE wants to connect, or looks for an
existing connection. Tools, Internet Options, Connections. It should use the
AOL DSL connection as default.

Kind regards
