Good morning, everyone. I sincerely hope you can help me
with this problem. I was browsing the internet a couple
days ago, and a whole bunch of popup ads occured all at
once, and then IE shut down. I tried re-opening the
program, but after I execute the .exe, i get an error
that says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
and needs to close." After clicking the more info thing,
it says this: AppName: iexplore.exe Appver: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: ieyg.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000143ce. I've
tried reinstalling it over the previous one, I've tried
deleting all IE related files and installing it, and I've
tried replacing the IE folder in Program Files with one
from another computer. None of these has been
successfull. I am running Windows XP Home Edition. Thank
you for any assistance you can render.

To test with: Disable third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box.
5. Restart Internet Explorer.

This is exactly how the identical problem started to occur
on my PC. Bunch of popups all at the same time. That's
when I developed the same problems. I tried all of the
same fixes that you have and none have fixed or improved
the problem. The only difference in my situiation is that
I'm still running Windows 98. As I read through these
threads it sems that thsi problem is being experienced by
a large number of people running many differenc eversions
of Windows.
