IE6 is disabled...help

After having some problems, I tried 'fix IE'...I received an error message.
Then I noticed that when checking System Information IE5 was listed not IE6.
When I clicked on "Internet Explorer" (under system information) it has IE6
listed as disabled under 'content advisor'.

How do I get IE6 back? I checked for downloads, but all I could find was
updates for IE6.

Hi auntbee :)
I'm have windows 98.

Thank you! :)

You might first check out the information here and see if it helps:

It is possible that somehow some of the system files may have been damaged
or broken. Here is the proper procedures for doing a repair of the Windows
98 system. You can try the repair and see if it restores your system to
original state. Then you can download and reinstall the IE6:

How to Repair Windows 98

Repair/Reinstall:

Be sure that your AV and firewall is disabled before starting:

The Internet Explorer Repair Tool
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers_5.htm#repair_tool

or.........

If you have not already done so, then you might try a repair of IE6 as
follows:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...port/kb/articles/Q194/1/77.asp&NoWebContent=1
or
http://snipurl.com/6s3r

also....

See the information on repairing W98 here:

Quick Repairs for Windows 98
http://www.mvps.org/serenitymacros/repair.html

If the repair worked and your system is again fully functional, then go to
the following and download the IE6 and install it from the hard drive, not
from the Internet.

Full IE6 77 MB package in one zipped file to install

http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/microsoft/ie/

and here

http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/microsoft/ie/6.0/

It works better for some users than other methods

Once you have it installed, and it is working properly, go immediately to
the Windows Update and get all the necessary patches and updates. You
should also update to the IE6 SP1 if possible.

Hope this helps

Hi auntbee :)

Here is some further information on this issue:

If you wish to restore Content Advisor to its original condition you can
obtain a Microsoft program (CA-Reset.exe - 89.5K) to dothis here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/CA-Reset.exe
(listed on line 283)

NOTE: Using CA-Reset will completely delete your Approved List - everything
starts like brand new, so consider this before you use it. You may also
