IE6 browsing very slowly

On a friends computer, both IE6 and mozilla are installed.
Mozilla browses the internet with the fuill speed if the
DSL connection, how ever, IE6 is being painfully slow using
the same connection, often taking longer than a normal dial
up connection. Any ideas as to what might be wrong? I don't
know where to start looking now that I've narrowed the
issue to being IE only.

Check the size of the browser cache. Tools>Internet Options>General>
Temporary Internet files>Settings

IMO anything over 64MB is a waste.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
