IE6 and copying images

MARY

(I posted this same message on 7/19 and 7/20 and cannot
find either of them on the board. I hope they are not
being deleted (for whatever reason, I don't know).)

I have several images on my website that are under
copyright and were given to me by the copyright holder
with request not to give to anyone else. I put the html
code on that webpage(IE5.5) which disabled the right
click. However, I notice now that we have updated to IE6
(from IE5.5) that anytime the cursor is put over one of
those images, a small screen automatically pops-up giving
viewer opportunity to copy/download that particular image.
Is there any way to disable this? I would feel very bad if
people began downloaded these images after my promise to
copyright holder. Any comments appreciated.

Hi Mary,
Those messages are there, but the web interface to newsgroups that you're
using is not terribly easy to use. So here's my opinion.
1. (Only half serious) if you don't want those images saved, don't put them
on the web.
2. If you disable right-click, people can still use Print Screen to copy the
image to the clipboard.
3. Keep the image small enough that it won't look good as wallpaper. Don't
use HTML to make it small. Keep the actual image file (on the server) at
about 200x300 (or even a little larger) and visitors will be able to see it,
but might not be tempted to save it.

Also, you might (just for fun) register at http://forum.aumha.org/ and post
this question to the General Discussion forum. You should get some good
responses.

Hope this helps,
Don
