IE vs Opening Word Documents and Missing Word Toolbars in IE

We are having a problems that we have several users in IE that open WORD
(that is set on everyone's workstation to browse within same window) and some
have word toolbars and some do not. If you click View | Toolbars | Standard,
it shows up that first time, but does not hold the setting.

When you enter Word outside the browser, the toolbars all show up right away.

Does anyone know if this is a plug-in?. It almost appears to work per user.
Any ideas? We can code specific toolbars to appear, but are wondering why
this doesn't work.

Thanks.

We can take off the browse within IE so it does open in Word, but that breaks
other applications that need it open in IE. Also, why are they all "browse
in same window" and some work fine and other don't. Have checked their IE
settings as well as word. Looking for someone who knows what specific
settings tell the toolbars to show up in Word in IE. Thanks.

Have it so Office files are opened in their native program, instead of
inside IE.

Maybe this will help with your issue:

OFF2000: Show Office Toolbars Button May Not Be Available

I'm also wondering if some machines also have Office Viewers (stand-alone
programs that allow computers w/o Office installed to view Office files) and
that's causing this issue....?

Very interesting. As I have several documents (same documents) and opening
from the same source, open on one machine and it opens in IE with toolbars;
if I open on a second machine, it opens, but without toolbars (same Windows
2000 image), they both run the same applications, etc.

Does Office 2003 fix this problem??

I'm sorry, but I'm out of ideas as to what may be causing your issue.
Hopefully someone will come along with the solution. I would also post this
issue to one of the Office general newsgroups as well. Lots of good MVPs
over there, too.
