IE shuts down

When working in any webpage IE sometimes sends a message that something is
wrong and appologizes for the inconvenience then shuts down with a request to
send report to MS. Usually there are two browser sessions open. Both close
with the same request. Any ideas??? IE will restart and everything seems
ok. All previous work was lost, however. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Sam :)

First try clearing your TIF's

Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

If still no joy, try the following:

Run the following commands from Start/Run. Type in each line individually
and hit enter. After
each entry is run you should see a short message stating the command was
successful.
The first command is the one most likely to work, so you can check and see
if the problem is resovled after that entry, and if not, then continue
entering the rest of the files and see if it helps:

regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll

regsvr32 Shell32.dll (only applicable to Windows ME, Windows 2000 and XP -
if using an earlier operating system, run regsvr32 shdoc401.dll)

regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:
