IE Shutdown using Adobe Acrobat

Since installing Windows XP Service Pack 2, Internet Explorer 6 shuts down
when using Acrobat Reader 6.
The error message says there is a problem with Acrobat ActiveX Control.
I have checked Add-ons and Security in Tools and Options, and the Adobe
site, and can't find a fix.
Any help,please?

It's one of the many, many apps affected by installing SP2. There's a giant
list on Microsoft's site.
