From some weeks IE 6 is not working on my PC.
I use XP SP2.

How can I reinstall IE6 ?

Now I am using Mozilla (because IE is not working...); and it is not
possible to use Microsoft Update, because it wants IE !

Help!

If the problem is being caused by hijackware, reinstalling IE won't help:
Windows is what's infected, not IE.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

When I started using firefox, I manually deleted several IE files, trying to
uninstall.
Dumb, now I know.
Now my active desktop is affected, as is the preview feature of the slideshow.

Should I reinstall IE?

please advise, thanks

Hi ie reinstall? :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, which does make a
difference in how things can be done and their effect on your system.

First, if you have Windows ME or XP, I suggest you try doing a Restore to a
date prior to your deleting the IE files and see if that will help. If this
is not possible, then you will likely need to 'Repair' your IE using the
instructions below that apply to your version of Windows.

If you have XP -

You will need to uninstall any post IE6-SP1 Win2K SPs before you
uninstall/reinstall IE. You will also have to go to the Windows Update and
reinstall all the necessary updates after the reinstall.

Hope this helps.
