IE quits/crashes with no error message

Dawn Leiske

My education webpage closes/crashes with IE
6.0.

I can see the webpage come up for 2 seconds, then my
browser crashes/closes completely down with no error
message. I have to click the IE icon again to access the
Internet, which works fine on other webpages.

The site I trying to access is http://www.wgu.edu

Does anyone know what code/elements are causing is to
happen?

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Dawn

I have similar problem but it happens for all websites. Solution I've found is to open IE first and then connect to the Internet. Upon refreshing the page, it doesn't crash. Dawn, could you find a solution to the problem? Vina

Vinay, Thanks for the info, unfortunately I'm on a work
station which is always connect to the Internet upon
start-up. I works fine on most site but some it crashes
on like the one I mentioned below.

No solution found at this point.

The site has some script errors, but should work.
First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Frank,

Thanks for the help, unfortunately what you suggested
didn't work. I was hoping the Adware would do the trick
as it did capture alot of files.

I guess I'll call for tech support, I don't know what
else it could be.
