IE proxy authentication caching

Hi,

We authenticate to a http proxy script, which is supposed to pass
through login information (therefore not prompting the user for actual
authentication information as it gets it from the initial login) and
sometimes (and I beleive it's after a password change) the user is
prompted for their username/password. The username/password they used
to login is entered here and it connects fine.
Why would it prompt them for their authentication information, when
it's the same username/password as thier login?
I was gusessing that somehow it might be caching their old password,
which is no longer valid and therefore requesting a valid password; if
this is the case, can this be cleared out somehow?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Is that in the Intranet zone? The default security settings show
Automatic logon only in the intranet zone
(last item in Custom Level Security Settings)

Do a web search for PSPV ("Protected Storage PassView")

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. All the sites having this issue are external
sites so they're unlikely to be in the Intranet zone; what happns is
when they request an external site, their authentication (from their
initial login) information is supposed to be passed through to the
proxy, which then authenticates them and connects them to the site.
I'll have a look at PSPV - not sure if this will help but I'll give it
a go.
