IE Problems

I had a problem with IE - I got an error message that
stated I had a "run time error". I can not use IE as a
browser. I went to the Microsoft page and tried to
download a kit to fit it - it still doesn't work..I went
to a computer store and they said I need a "patch". How
can I get this - would like to use IE again.

What is the exact error message?
If there is a Details button click that and give us the first two lines.
