IE not working, but internet connection OK

I am posting this for my girlfriend, since she doesn't have internet access.
She is running XP on a laptop and has a wireless connection. She can download
music, updates, etc, but when she opens IE it doesn't display any page. I had
her restore all of the default settings and check for any updates, but there
weren't any available. Not sure what the problem could be since she has an
available connection. I believe she also has Firefox installed, but that
doesn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1... Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.

= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit or you can send them here in your next
post) and click [OK] to confirm your Changes.
How to manage Add-Ons:

Click on Advanced Tab and scroll down under the browsing option and uncheck
this box:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) and click Apply

http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-gb/default.htm

Run disk clean up on Her Drive.
Open the Run command and type thes command one at a time and click [Ok]
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [Ok]
Reboot her Laptop and see if you/She are able to connect to the internet and
access websites.

If that didn't help then try to make her to Power Down Her Router/Modem for
about minute or two and also her Laptop then Power Her Router/Modem and wait
for 60 seconds or so then Power ON the Laptop, does it help?

She's out of town right now. I am going to email her this post and have her
give these a try. Hopefully this will clear up the problem. Thanks for the
reply.
