IE Locks Up Everytime I Type in an Address

Whenever I type in a website address and hit enter or Go,
IE sits there for a minute or two and then the top blue
window bar says "Microsoft Internet Explorer (Not
Responding). I've kept IE up to date with all the
critical updates for both IE and XP Home so I have SP1,
Q330994, Q828750, Q831167, Q832894 and the elusive
Q828026 for IE . Strangely, I can navigate from site to
site if I hit a link on a page or if I jump using the
Favourites menu. Can anybody help me??

With IE open, go to Tools > Options > Advanced. Scroll down to Search. Check
"Just go to the most likely site." Click OK.

DCB,
Perhaps your AutoComplete info is corrupt?
Internet Options | Content | AutoComplete [button]
"Flush" everything, uncheck all options
Advanced [tab] Uncheck: "Use inline AutoComplete"
Click Apply\Ok

Possibly your cache folder is corrupt:

Thanks to Mike and War 17 for their suggested fixes but
no cigar. I still find IE locks up and shows the (Not
Responding) headline. I couldn't go to the www.mvps.org
website because every time I do the system locks up. Can
any body give me quick instructions on how to celan the
IE cache folder?
