Typing URL into Address Bar hangs IE

When I type a URL into the address bar the animation in the right-hand
corner runs for about four seconds, then I hear a click, then IE hangs.
Attempts to do anything, including menu items and toolbar buttons results
in a (not responding) added to the title bar.

IE Info:
Version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633
Cipher Strength: 128-bit
Update Versions:; SP1; Q828750; Q330994; Q824145;
Q832894; Q837009; Q831167;

If I use a bookmark or click on a link, everything works fine.
I've run Lavasoft & SpySweep which found traces of malware and got rid of
them, no change. I've tried to re-install IE with no success. I've also run
BHODaemon which came up with nothing unusual; AcroRead, Google, and Norton
AntiVirus.

I tried to find this issue on MSDN without success. Does anyone have any
insight into this issue?

Go to: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware]

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.
