IE kernel32.dll error

Does anyone know why IE will not launch and I get a
kernel32.dll error? This only happens when I click on the
icon. I tried to download 6.0 but I might still have the
version that came with Me.
Thanks

If you haave IE6:
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." If that allows IE to run, then search for and remove
malware:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:

Run CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html first. It's been
the most helpful with this problem. It may be the only cleanup program you
need this time. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded
from another machine onto a floppy disk.

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.

If you have IE5.5, you can't disable extensions. You don't have that option.
Download CWShredder from another computer if necessary. It will fit on a
floppy disk.

Post back to this thread if that doesn't work.
