IE Help launches frequetly and unexpectedly

I have a compaq presario 2170 US notebook that was just refurbished at the
factory and I upgraded the memory to 1G using Kingston memory. They
reinstalled XP at the orginal configuration. I since went through all of the
windows update processes to bring i up to date. When using IE 6.0 and Spider
Solitare, the help window lauches unexpectely and repaeatedly. When I close
the help window, it launches again i n a couple of minutes.

Can ayone help?

Update - This help process appears on all windows core applications. Even
when running Windows Defender the problem occurred.
