IE hangs on opening a new window.

whenever I click on a link that opens a new window the
new window will hang. I can stop it and refresh it and it
will pull up the web page just fine. Any links that open
in the same window will open as they should but if it
opens a new window it will hang every time. I am running
XP Pro with IE^ and all the latest patches and service
packs. I have tried resetting the security settings and
that doesn't help.

I am having a similar problem. The only difference is the
new window just hangs. No amount of persuasion will open
it. Can anyone help us?

Here's what I found that worked for me.

See if this works:
1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll
succeeded"
message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2
through 4 for each of
the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with
each of the file
names below):
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)
