I have IE 6.0. It freezes for about 5-10 secs everytime i try to do any actiity (opening new website, trying to search something). I have cleared cache, history, temp files, cookies....etc. I use norton antivirus (updated today) and system scanned. I tried everything from intalling windows updates and scanning my system etc...but nothing has worked. Also sometmes (not always) when i open IE window annother windiw opens in minimised mode...and when i try to close it it gives me the box saying not responding and i had to press end now...doing so closes all the open windiws....

Anyone has any idead wat could it be and how to resolve it.

Hi,
This is possibly being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:
The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm

Hope this helps,
Don
