IE explorer caused a stack fault in module kernel32.dll

I get this error message when I open IE 6 and try to type
in any open fields. It usually will freeze my computer up
as well. IE explorer has caused a stack fault in module
kernel32.dll Any ideas on why this happens and how to
fix?
