IE Error and Closes

G

Guest

I receive an error message that automatically closes IE.

The exception information includes the following
Code xc0000005
Address:0x000000007c811024

It also lists a document to be sent with the error report
c:Documents and Settings\owner\Local~1\Temp\4c6d_appcompat.text

When I go to Windows Explorer I also get an error that DrWatson Postmortem
Debugger has problems with a file in the same folder but the file names are

\wer9e9a.dir00\drwtsn32.exe.mdmp
\appcompat.txt

I cannot get into Win Explorer to remove these files. Any help would greatly
appreciated.

Hi,
This is probably being caused by another program- often malware. Download
and run
CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot.
See: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Also note the security tips and other important information on that page.

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
anti-virus, etc- any program that might be interfering with IE. You may have
to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

This (lengthy) troubleshooting process may help:

Hope this helps,
