A couple of days ago IE has stopped loading anything, whatever address i put
in it just doesnt load and after a while i get the "can not find page"
screen, its as if i dont have a connection, but i do becasue MSN messanger,
firefox and even the in built windows update program works, (not the one in
the IE window as it doesn't load)
I've checked that the program is allowed connection through the panda
antivirus firewall and i dont think i have changed any settings. Ive also had
problems with the half life 2 program Steam and also gamespy as neither of
these load as well

I don't know what to do and would be grateful for any help on the subject

Thanks

I am having this exact problem!

About a week and a half ago, I was able to access both the web and my pop3
email. It's been a week now, and I can't access the web. No problem with
receiving updates for programs that don't use IE. Switch to a different
account on the computer and the problem didn't exist. Set up new account
yesterday and as of today that also doesn't have IE working. NEED HELP!!!

Great work Frank.

What part of "cannot access any web sites/pages" eludes you ?

Now, don't dismiss me as an ingrate, because those of us who have this
problem CANNOT OPEN ANY WEB SITES/PAGES, so posting http// links is of
absolutely no help at all.

Sure, we understand the consequences of spyware, and I'd say most of
us have taken what steps we can to avoid it (or at least put up a
first line of defence).

Some of us may have access to an alternative PC and Internet
connection to actually see the web links you have referred us to, but
some of us do not, and I'm one of the ones which does not.

Once again, we DO appreciate efforts to help, but please put it in a
form we can use.

Frank & to those who also may be able to help...

I have done all the suggested things and still cannot access the internet
from my original username on my computer. And subsequently cannot access
from a second usesrname. There are two alternate usernames on my computer
from which connecting thru IE is still possible.

I need a fix, while I have the means to still connect. Switching users is
very time consuming. Does anyone KNOW what the problem is?

I did have a similar problem to those described earlier, but finally
figured out it was a router problem.

ChrissiLeigh, thought your problem may have been the same, but if IE
is working and loading web pages through some user log ons, then it
sounds like a different problem.
