IE Cannot Open Internet Site - Cannot Find Server or DNS Err

K

kennyharrill

I'm running IE Version 6. I use Windows 5.1, Build 2600, Service Pac
2. My computer is tied to a local area network. Up to a few day
ago, Internet Explorer was working fine. All of a sudden, I'
getting the error "Cannot Find Server or DNS Error.

I have tried all the suggestions on the page that displays, to n
avail. Have also tried renaming additional Wsock32.dll files
clearing my cookies and temporary internet pages, configuring th
proxy server - all to no avail. Nothing seems to help

Some programs rely on IE. I was forced to uninstall McAfee anti-viru
software and download an alternative

Can anyone out there think of anything I'm missing? We have no I
Administrator - myself and partner are primarily website/databas
staff. Any suggestions would be very appreciative

I hope that you did not rename the wsock32.dll in the dllcache folder.

You might be infested with malware.
