Cannot find server or DNS error

Something has changed with my IE settings that I cannot
figure out. I am running WinXP Home. I dial up and
connect to my ISP successfully. But when I open my IE I
get the error Page cannot be displayed, Cannot find server
or DNS error. I have checked all the internet options
settings. I have reloaded winsock and wsock32. I have
emptied cache, cookies and temporary internet files. In
the event viewer I can see there is a DHCP problem with
satisfying an IP address. I have all the settings to auto-
detect. I have stopped and restarted DHCP. What else is

Did you remove some trojan/virus or spyware recently?
That may hav caused you winsock settings to be damaged.
