IE 6

I just installed XP. It included IE 6. After logging on to ms upgrade site, my anti-virus went crazy with warnings. Every new virus I have heard about was trying to access my computer from the ms site. When I went to any other site they stopped. After 2 days they stopped. I changed my virus scanner to not notify me. Next, in the middle of trying to download the "critical files" a porn site cancelled my connection and installed 17 redirects on my hard drive. Several were put into Hidden Folders. The ones your told not to look at by XP cause you might mess something up. ONE OF THE SITES JUST POPPED UP over this message. I have more to say but it is time for work. Later!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
