IE 6 vs. IE 7

I successfully installed IE 7 a few weeks ago. Then I had problems with my
virus scanner and it was suggested to uninstall IE 7 and go back to IE 6. I
uninstalled IE 7 successfully and have not been able to confirm if IE 6 is in
my system. It does not show in my Programs file, but when I type in
"iexplore" in Run, I get some version of IE. Can anyone help this frustrated
user.... thanks, Gary

Hi,
Attempts to uninstall or reinstall IE6 in XP sometimes simply remove access
to IE.

Go to Add/remove programs> Add/remove Windows components> put a check by IE.
OK your way out. Restart.

You may also have to go into "Set program access & defaults" and make
choices regarding "Default" and "Enable access."

You may also have to go into Display properties> Desktop> Customize to check
(select) IE under Desktop icons.

Hope this helps,
Don

If you click Help | About in IE what version does it say you have?
