IE 6 Options Issue

UpACreek

I have two computers where when I go into Internet Explorer Options menu,
make a change, and then go to Apply the change, IE locks up, and becomes
unresponsive. I have to go into Task Manager to kill it. Downloading IE7 is
not an option because some in-house sites I use won't open in IE7.

I have looked at all of the configurations and can't find anything different
from other computers that work properly. I have run virus scans (McAfee) and
third party scans (AdAware and Spybot) and nothing is coming up. I have
removed and reloaded IE6. I've downloaded all updates for IE6 in Windows
Update. I have also run IEFix and nothing is resolving this issue. Any
thoughts?

Beware this imposter; he is apparently not even an ms mvp as he claims
and posts under many different nicks.

Best thing would be to take this question to an IE group and ask it
there.

Unable to make any changes in Options. Once "Apply" is clicked it freezes.
Nothing that I changed takes. Could this be tied to Oracle being loaded onto
the workstation?

OK. Give us the complete details of the system including XP version and SP version
and any other surprises apart from Oracle and describe what you mean by
workstation(networked ? )
