IE 6 not accessing secure website

I have a computer that is running Windows 2000 and IE 6.
I cannot access only one specific secure website, I do
have Java script enabled which is the recommendation of
the Tech dept of the secure website I am trying to
access. I have another identical computer with the same
security and advanced settings at the same location and
they can access this website without any problems. If I
have the users sign on to the opposite computers, the
same computer works and the other one will not allow the
other user in so I know it has nothing to do with
profiles. I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks.

Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

If that isn't it, what happens when you try to go to the site.

Hi Frank,

I did rename the HOSTS file to HOSTS.OLD and re-booted
the computer. However, when we tried to access the
secure website again, we hung up again. The message
is "Opening page http://website name.com/" but it does
not advance beyond that point.
